Music classes for kids in Singapore

A musical ear first, technique second. Our children's programs turn listening, rhythm and singing into play, then build real Carnatic, Hindustani or Western foundations as your child grows — online or in person.

Two programs, paced for how children learn

Little Voices · ages 4–8

Playful ear-training and rhythm games that build a musical ear before a technical one. Children learn to match pitch, clap tala, recognise notes and sing simple songs with confidence.

Young Singers · ages 9–15

Structured raga and tala foundations in Carnatic, Hindustani or Western music, performance confidence, and guidance toward music exams for those who want them.

What your child gains

  • A trained ear — singing in tune and hearing the difference.
  • Rhythm and focus — keeping tala builds concentration that carries into schoolwork.
  • Confidence — performing for family, at school and at community events.
  • Cultural connection — songs, stories and traditions in Tamil, Hindi, Sanskrit and more.
  • Music without borders — our Fluency Lab shows children that Sa, Sa and Do are the same note, so Carnatic, Hindustani and Western music all make sense together.

Flexible for families

Choose one-to-one lessons for a fully personal pace, or a small group where children learn alongside friends. Siblings and parents can learn too — a family can grow together under one roof.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best age for my child to start music lessons?

Children can start from around age 4 in Little Voices, which is play-based. Children from 9 join Young Singers, with more structured raga and tala work. There is no wrong age to begin.

Should my child learn Carnatic, Hindustani or Western music?

Any of them, or a mix. We often start with a shared foundation of pitch and rhythm, then follow the music your child responds to. You can decide together after the trial class.

Can my child prepare for music exams?

Yes. Young Singers includes exam-track guidance, and we offer structured preparation toward music certification for students who want it.

Do you teach children with special needs?

Yes. We offer patient, individualised coaching for children with special needs, paced to their comfort and strengths. Please tell us about your child when you enquire.

Are children's classes online or in person?

Both. Classes run online and in person at our Costa Rhu studio in Singapore, one-to-one or in small groups.
